Brighton Designer Jeweller Anna Loucah was shortlisted for Kayman Award

July 17, 2009 :: Posted by - Tim :: Category - Anna Loucah

Bespoke jewellery designer Anna Loucah was short-listed for the Kayman Award in 2007. The national competition held annually in memory of UK jewellery manufacturer Gerald Kayman, aims to highlight the amazing talent of our designers within the UK jewellery industry.

The 2007 award sought new designs in collections of gold incorporating coloured stones and must be suitable for wearing to a party of the designer’s choice.

Anna Loucah based her collection on a glamorous awards party such as the Oscars and entitled her range “I Accept…”. The designs are based around shooting stars, as in when a star is at its most dynamic with the concept being that the pieces are to be worn by a woman who is up for an award and therefore to be the star of the show. The stones chosen by Anna are all linked to accepting ones self and abilities as well as the award, in a bold and confident way.

The shortlist will be reduced to six finalists on the 29th November 2006 including the winner and five runners-up. Collections by all finalists will be displayed on the British Jewellers Association stand at the Spring Fair Birmingham in February 2007 and submitted for a further ‘Buyers Choice’ Award. To purchase some of Anna Loucah’s latest work, such as the silver bracelet pictured, go to her online store where you can also place special commissions.
